Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Mitch Lin mastered composition, orchestration and advanced harmony at the University of Taipei, where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree, thereafter pursuing further study in composition at National Taiwan Normal University.  Engaging in varied musical endeavors – such as singing in choir, performing on woodwinds in a military band, and playing piano in jazz and rock bands – Mitch is always exploring different styles of music. He is currently completing a Master’s Degree in Scoring for Film and Multimedia at New York University’s Steinhardt School, where he works closely with directors and professors in the continued evolution of his unique compositional voice. 

 

Mitch Lin’s music for film is full of elegant melody, colorful harmony and rich orchestra texture.  He blends a wide range of genres, including classical, jazz, electronic, exotic, and rock.

 

 

On Board

On Board is a 2D animation composited on top of video footage of cardboard miniature set. Via the elegant melody of pure piano, an old man travels through his memory of his beloved wife on his grandson‘s toy train. ‮
