Carrie
Carrie is a 1976 American supernatural Horror film based on Stephen King’s 1974 novel of the same name. The film was directed by Brian De Palma and written by Lawrence D. Cohen. The story is about Carrie White, a 17-year old girl, is the scapegoat of her school and also constantly scolded by her mother Margaret White, an abusive, mentally ill and unstable religious fanatic. After experiencing her first menstruation in the school shower room, Carrie noticed that she could move things with her mind. In a fit of blind rage after being humiliated in front of the school during the prom, Carrie triggers her exceptionally strong telekinetic abilities and ruthlessly massacres her classmates.
One of the main sets in this film is the House of White family. In order to provide the space for the tension between Margaret and Carrie, my design of the overall layout of this house is “Control”. Margaret can easily locate every movement Carrie does in this house. There is no blind spot that Carrie could hide.
Sleepy Hollow
Sleepy Hollow is a 1999 American fantasy horror film directed by Tim Burton. It is a film adaptation loosely inspired by the 1820 short story The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving. The story starts from Ichabod Crane being sent to Sleepy Hollow to investigate the decapitations of 3 people with the culprit being the legendary apparition, the Headless Horseman.
The main locations in this film are the Sleepy Hollow town, the church, the Van Tassel House, Notary Public, Doctor’s residence, the Stable, the Covered Bridge, the Bunker, the windmill, Killian’s house, the cave and the tree of the dead. In this project, I designed the overall look of the Sleepy Hollow town. Focus on setting up the texture and the tone of this period and fantasy town.

Memoria de Octavia
Memoria de Octavia, tells the story of a neuroscientist, Octavia, who came to the United States from Mexico under asylum as a child. Using herself as a test subject, she struggles to erase memories of her past. Inspired by the scientific works of neuroscientist Karim Nader and neuroscientist Joseph Ledoux, the film’s theme centers on the unreliable and intangible nature of memory. The safest memories are the ones that you don’t think about.
Based on the short story, “El dia de los muertos,” written by Stephen Schuyler.!=
